I work for the U.S. Army in the child development centers. I
found that working with the federal system, the centers are stricter with their
regulations and standard operations of procedures than the centers overlooked
by the state. In a way, I feel that federal CDCs (Child Development Centers)
offer a better example of how all centers should be ran. For example, when it
comes to ratios, the number of children allowed to one teacher is lower with
the federal system than the state. This allows for more one on one interaction
with the providers and the children. When a classroom is too full a child can
be overlooked and his/her full potential may not be reached. I have a
question... If you had a choice of working in the federal or state system,
which would you prefer and why? I'm sure there are pros and cons to both.
